Other important Questions about Buck knife 112.
-
What year did Buck 112 come out?
Despite being available since 1972, the 112 wasn’t included in a dealer catalog until 1974. A new handle material and the addition of the model 112 Ranger’s hook-shaped front bolster, which served as a fictitious finger guard, distinguished the first iteration of the knife from its “larger brother”.

Is the Buck 112 worth it?
The Buck 112 Ranger and its derivatives are well worth their weight in salt and, in my honest view, belong in every EDC rotation, regardless of whether you enjoy the finer things in life or have a rebellious attitude. You can throw pretty much anything at the knife, and it will handle it superbly. Camp with it.
Jeffrey Smith –
Great knife, solid and fits hand nicely. The locking blade is high quality and holds a sharp edge all day. The sheath is well made and secures the knife safely while leaving room in your pockets for other things.
James Baton –
I’m a big fan of Buck knives. They seem to hold an edge well and it’s easy to get an edge back on them. Even though I own multiple fixed blade knives I find this folder the easiest and most useful.
Cobe Daniel –
I just received my 112 Elite today. If you’ve never carried a 110 or 112, be aware that it’s a considerably beefier knife than most of the other edc gear available today. The knife is well-made and should last for a long time. On such a classic design, the auto feature is simply amazing. The G10 scales are extremely gripping and have no blade play. Outstanding work, Buck!

The Buck knife has exceeded my expectations. It is one of my favorite pieces in my collection. It’s well-made, and I appreciate the features like the s30v blade and G10 handles. The movement is also quite smooth.
Duell Mark –
By far the smoothest automatic deployment motion I’ve ever felt in a knife. The steel is excellent, and the grip is clearly really comfortable to hold. I tried both this version and the ordinary wood, and I much enjoyed this one. The G10 is better for real-world use, and the Elite has a little more kick during deployment. The blade was slightly off-center, but it did not damage the side or impede the motion in any way. 9.3/10
